Tobogganing in Mittersill in the Hohe Tauern National Park

Toboggan fun on your winter holiday

Onto the mountain and right back down on the toboggan, accompanied by joyful laughter and a few obligatory spills into the wet snow – these are magical childhood memories. Tobogganing in Mittersill and the Hohe Tauern National Park region lifts this wintery entertainment onto a new level. With a particularly impressive, illuminated run and countless other natural toboggan runs nearby, the Appart-Pension Schnöll ensures shared winter fun regardless of age.

The world’s longest illuminated toboggan run

We start with the undisputed tobogganing highlight and take a trip to the Wildkogel Arena in Bramberg. Take the Wildkogelbahnen cable cars or the Smaragdbahn to the start of the longest illluminated toboggan run in the world. Those aren’t just hollow words as 1,300 altitude metres spread across an unbelievable 14 kilometres waiting to be conquered during 30 to 50 minutes of action. Race back into the valley under floodlights with evening openings on Fridays. You might need some courage for this trip.

Other toboggan runs in the region

Those who prefer to start small will find many additional options for enjoyable tobogganing in Mittersill-Hollersbach-Stuhlfelden and beyond, all of which can be easily and quicky reached from our Appart-Pension Schnöll. We very much recommend the following runs:

  • Natural toboggan run Berghof in Hollersbach (2.5 km long)
  • Toboggan run Königsleiten (approx. 950 m)
  • Natural toboggan run Krimml (2 km)
  • Toboggan run Finkenhof (approx. 500 m – very family-friendly!)
  • Natural toboggan run Stockenbaum in Neukirchen (approx. 5.5 km)

And that’s just a small selection of the regional tobogganing on offer – we will gladly show you our other personal favourites throughout the Hohe Tauern National Park region and the fastest routes to get there. Have you secured your favourite apartment? We are already looking forward to your booking enquiry.
